My work with young adults began shortly after my graduation from college when I was hired as a leadership consultant for a nonprofit organization. I traveled to over thirty colleges that year and worked with young women to implement effective leadership and management strategies. During that time, I encountered many students who lacked key organizational and planning skills that hindered their success in academic and extra-curricular work. At this early point in my career, I began to develop the basic tools and strategies I use today to help students plan and organize in a way that is both thorough and efficient. I know that nurturing, guidance and patience enable students to realize their own potential for success.
My subsequent work with teens -- as a credentialed secondary school teacher, tutor, mentor and community volunteer -- has been rooted in honesty, strong organization, and a high level of individual attention. I bring the same approach to college planning, and am committed to helping your teen set the cornerstone in his or her high school experience by mapping out a clear, well-thought-out plan that builds -- piece by piece, stone by stone - a solid foundation of what matters in the college admission process.
While this sounds simple enough in theory, each student's path to college is remarkably unique. As a parent myself, I understand the high levels of stress and intimidation associated with this process. Planning for college should be one of the most exciting times in a young adult's life, and collaborating with a college consultant who is knowledgable, approachable, and organized results in work that conveys empowerment and a strong sense of self.
My work as a College Admission Consultant is a deeply gratifying professional experience. Mentoring students through a process of self-discovery and personal reflection is an honor, and I find all facets of the experience equally intriguing and energizing. Whether I am meeting with a hopeful student, analyzing statistical data, attending professional development conferences, reading student essays, or calming parents’ fears, I consistently find this important work to be exciting and fulfilling.
